Upon receipt of all application materials by the deadline, and determination by the School of Nursing that all admission criteria are met, including grade point average, the School of Nursing will notify selected applicants of admission status.

The admission criteria represent minimal standards and provide no guarantee of acceptance. Admission to the Master of Science in Nursing program is competitive and granted by the Graduate Committee of the School of Nursing.

• Three letters of recommendation should go through an electronic form that is sent out when the prospective student is completing the online application above
• In a two to three-page double-spaced scholarly essay, discuss your short and long-term academic and career goals once you obtain the Doctorate in Nursing Education (EdD). What is your area of research interest for the Doctorate in Nursing Education (EdD), and how does this relate to the needs for the future of nursing education? Explain this topic of interest and the need for scholarly inquiry in this area. Include the literature that supports its relevance, particularly as it relates to the future of nursing education. Submit this scholarly essay in a Word document.
• To ensure academic integrity, the Tanner Health School of Nursing (THS SON) vigorously affirms the importance of an Honor Code as defined by the THS SON Undergraduate and Graduate Student Handbook. Therefore, to detect and prevent plagiarism, faculty members at THS SON now use an originality tool called Turnitin to compare a candidate's work with multiple online sources. Turnitin reports a percentage of similarity with multiple online sources and provides links to those specific sources. However, the tool itself does not determine whether or not a paper has been plagiarized. Instead, the individual faculty member must make that judgment.
